We always try to get the best quality conversion possible. However, the quality of the transfer depends on the quality of the original media. If there is an issue with the original, those issues will translate over to the digital copies.
It’s not uncommon for a tape to be blank or damaged, or for customers to send in media that we actually aren’t able to transfer. We will notify you immediately if we find an issue with any of your media.
We transfer all tapes at a flat fee, therefore we transfer the etititry of the tape. - Let's say you have only 2 minutes of footage at the beginning, then you would have 58 minutes of a static blue screen after that.
We have a secure address that we utilize to receive your media via the mail. We can give you our exact mailing address after you officially schedule your transfer service.
In short answer, yes! We do transfer tapes to DVDs, but ideally we try to avoid this option. DVDs are now a form of analog media so we really try to avoid them. We would rather you store your digital files on your computer, hard drive, or the cloud.
Your digital files will be available for download (via the cloud) for up to 12 months after the completion of your transfer. After the 12 month period has ended, your files will be removed. We will notify you when the period is almost up.
If you receive your transferred media back and it's not up to your expectations, please reach out to us in a timely manner and we can discuss and or arrange a refund option for you.
